We are proud to put Sápmi on the map for one of the best 21 places to stay if you care about the planet, according to National Geographic.
According to National Geographic:
Sustainable, spectacular and engaged with local communities – these lodges are tucked into some of the planet’s wildest places.
Sapmi Nature Camp is a sustainable camp in unspoiled nature and we want share Sámi knowledge about life and nature here, far North of the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland. We are happy to be on the list together with some of the most spectacular and sustainable places to stay on the planet among lodges in Botswana, New Zealand, Belize, Costa Rica, Argentina and more!
Our camp is located in the heart of Laponia World Heritage Area and on the grazing land of my Sami community Unna Tjerusj, just outside Gällivare/Jokkmokk in Swedish Lapland. Read more about Sapmi Nature Camp here
We are devoted to create a sustainable development through ecotourism and we stand alongside the reindeer herders and others in their fight to keep nature unspoiled. We continue the Sami tradition and lifestyle by using the land in a gentle way, based on a mix of traditional and modern knowledge about life here in the North.
